Leaving
a Legacy
Recently, Rainbow Child Development Center was bequeathed a gift
of $13,000 from the estate of Bertha Boyle. Having no immediate
family, Ms. Boyle selected Rainbow to receive her inheritance. While
she was living in Holden, MA at the time of her death, Ms Boyle
grew up in the Belmont Hill neighborhood. The Board of Directors
will make a designation on the appropriate use of these funds to
acknowledge Ms. Boyle's generosity. A framed picture of Bertha Boyle
as a child hangs in Rainbow's administrative office to recognize
her contribution to our Center.
To leave a legacy such as Ms. Boyle so kindly did, is a way for
people to make a real difference by giving back to the community
where they live and work. It is a way to minimize taxes and perpetuate
your memory by providing support to an organization whose mission
is important to your interests and beliefs. There are many ways
in which you can "leave a legacy": through a dollar designation
in a will; donation of personal property or by leaving a life insurance
policy or investments. Rainbow Child Development Center is one of
many non-profit agencies who are members of the organization, "Leave
a Legacy" of Central Massachusetts. Their mission is to inspire
all people to make gifts through their wills to causes and organizations
they care about most.
